Coming to a Convocation near you...Ready, Set, FAIL!

Happy Summer!

It's been a wild ride these last few months with the launch of Ready, Set, FAIL! which hit the #1 spot in multiple categories on Amazon. This book is a mix of inspiration and pragmatism. It's equal parts motivation and practical ideas for the classroom or your next professional learning experience. My own personal life story is built into this book along with research and strategies for turning our schools into stadiums of innovation as opposed to rooms of compliance and conformity.

The message of thoughtful risk-taking and celebrating failure in our classrooms has resonated extremely well with teachers and administrators alike. I'm honored to be asked to kick-off multiple start-of-school events and convocations this coming fall. It is so important to start the school year off on the right foot and the message I share pairs well with any district concerned with staff morale, self-care, innovation, and raising the next generation of creative problem-solvers. I recently shared this talk to a packed house at the 2022 ISTELive event and the response was overwhelming! Here's just a couple of responses:

If you are a building or district leader hoping to get your staff fired up for the 2022-23 school year, reply to this email or fill out my booking form to bring me to your next district/school event. I'm also currently doing long-term consulting with 3 different district when it comes to blended learning and innovative practices in schools and have helped guide several book studies (virtually) as well around Ready, Set, FAIL!

We can't do this alone! Let me know how I can help you and your learning community this year!

I know there are already a lot ideas for “AI-Resistant” assessment out there, but I think it takes a multi-faceted approach to solve the AI as a cheat-bot dilemma. Below is a summary of a blog I wrote on this very topic. Check out the full post here but here are some highlights: Why do students cheat? This to me is the most essential question we as...

Greetings! I just spent the last two weeks touring the country talking to various schools, conferences, and educators on the impact of AI on teaching and learning. I'm not an AI expert (nor do I think anyone really is at this point), but I do believe educators should be having some serious conversations around the impact of AI in schools when it comes to: Academic Integrity Media Literacy Creative and Critical Thinking Skills And more! As we head into summer, school leaders should be thinking...

With all the rage around Artificial Intelligence (AI) lately, I've been taking a deeper dive into ways these tools can help teachers and students going forward. Recently, I kicked off a series of video shorts called "Hooked On Ai". These one minute-ish videos are meant to provide teachers with a quick overview of many different tools and strategies around using AI in the classroom. Here's the first 3 videos in the series. Be sure to follow me on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or my Facebook page...
